From Bob Proctor's teaching, I learned that our body is an instrument of the mind - it does exactly what the mind tells it to do. As runners we know that the reason we don’t follow through with a plan or push ourselves during intervals is not because our body can’t. It’s because our mind has checked out of the run. When we don’t fear the uncomfortable and can tolerate being in it, we stand to gain so much. It’s so empowering to truly experience that we can do really hard things not just physically but also mentally.
It's not a 'no pain, no gain' mentality of just forcing. It's being in the space of what's uncomfortable with awareness and emotionally learning to tolerate it.
To tolerance,
Stine
